Record setter: Sterling resident Bruce McBarnette set a new world
record in the indoor high jump for men ages 45-49 for the third
time this year Feb. 26 at Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex
in Maryland. McBarnette cleared 6 feet, 5½ inches, breaking
his old mark by half an inch. McBarnette has won world championships
for his age group three times, and has won 13 USA Track and Field
National Masters Championships.
