Record setter: Sterling resident Bruce McBarnette set a new world
record in the indoor high jump for men ages 45-49 for the second
time this year Feb. 19 at Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex
in Maryland. McBarnette cleared 6 feet, 5 inches, breaking his old
mark by one-quarter of an inch. McBarnette has won world championships
for his age group three times, and has won 13 USA Track and Field
National Masters Championships.
